This is a very, very special café in the Kew East neighbourhood.
The first time I walked in, I knew immediately — this was the café I had always dreamed of. A bookshop and a café, together under one roof. The smell of coffee alongside the smell of books. How could anything be more perfect than that?
The owner, Fran, is a true book person. She loves reading deeply, and next to many of the books in her shop you will find small handwritten recommendation cards — her own words, written to help you find the right book. Not a list. Not an algorithm. A person who has read these books and wants to share them with you.
When my son was in Year 5 and 6, I often struggled to find the right books for him. It was Fran's shop that gave me the chance to sit with my coffee and simply listen to her recommend. She guided me to so many books suited for boys — Tristan Bancks, the complete Morris Gleitzman series — all newly published, all exactly right.
This is a coffee library. The coffee is made with Supreme beans. There is a regular reading club, and a dedicated children's corner where young readers lose themselves happily.

这是一家咖啡library。咖啡用的是Supreme的豆子，店里经常还有reading club。书区有专属的儿童角，小读者们在那里自得其乐。
