Inside: white walls, white bentwood chairs, a coffee bar as calm as a French kitchen. Outside, Parisian-style tables sit on the pavement — and across the road, retired train carriages rest on a rooftop, covered in graffiti, watching the street below.
I came on a Sunday morning and ordered a flat white and the French crêpe — blueberries, berry coulis, icing sugar, grilled lemon. One of those dishes that surprises you. The canelé and madeleine from the pastry cabinet are made properly and worth ordering every time.
Come without plans. Sit outside. Order something French. Let the morning take its time.
